    • Here, Dhanteras marks the beginning of the agricultural new year. Farmers worship their cattle, particularly cows and bulls, and offer them special treats. The evening is dedicated to worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and seeking her blessings for prosperity.

    • People in Gujarat celebrate Dhanteras with a unique custom known as "abhyang snan," where they take a ceremonial bath in fragrant oils and apply kumkum and sandalwood paste to their bodies. This signifies purification and invokes blessings for good health and wealth.
